About the conference

This conference, organised by the UNESCO UNITWIN Network 'Culture, Tourism, Development' and its member, the University of Primorska, Faculty Tourism Studies TURISTICA, is an international and interdisciplinary forum addressing the emerging need for sustainability-oriented innovations in tourism management of heritage sites.

The UNESCO UNITWIN Network "Culture, Tourism, Development" has been organizing biannual international conferences on the topic of world heritage and tourism since 2010.

The 7th UNESCO UNITWIN Conference "World Heritage & Tourism Innovation" is at the same time the 8th ENCUENTROS Conference of the University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies - Turistica.

Encuentros is an international conference organised by the UP Faculty of Tourism Studies - Turistica. Held on the Adriatic coast in the port of roses (Portorož), which belongs to the municipality of Piran, the conference provides a space for Encounters of tourism scholars from different academic disciplines, tourism practitioners and students.
